Born Oct. 14, 1903, in Diagonal, she was the daughter of Arthur and Effie Belle Simpson Woods. On Aug. 3, 1929, she married Leonard Franklin Fogle. He died April 30, 1962.
Mrs. Fogle worked at a bakery in Diagonal. After moving to Mount Pleasant in 1942, she worked as cafeteria supervisor for the kitchen of the Mental Health Institute in Mount Pleasant. She then worked in the Harlan House Hotel dining room kitchen in Mount Pleasant and later became the cook for the former Lambda Chi fraternity house with Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She finished her career as a cook for Lincoln Elementary School in Mount Pleasant. She retired in 1975.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Westside Mothers Club and Rebecca Lodge, all of Mount Pleasant. She also was a 57–year member of the Pinochle Club in Mount Pleasant. She loved to cook.
Survivors include one son, Richard Fogle of Trevor, Wis.; one granddaughter; two great–grandchildren; and one great–great–grandson.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. There will be no family visitation.
The funeral for Mrs. Fogle will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Edward R. Peterson officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bohemian Cemetery in rural Diagonal.
Memorials have been established for First United Methodist Church and Westside Mother's Club.
