Althea Lotus Archer, 94, passed into her heavenly home on July 11, 2016 at Parkersburg Care and Rehab.

Lotus was born April 4, 1922 the daughter of Earl and Ruth Ellen Lowe. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Athol and her first husband Donald Curtis Archer. She was also preceded by her husband of 60 years Blair Archer and their son Gary Allen Archer.

Lotus was a homemaker and enjoyed doing crafts and painting beautiful pictures. She spent her life trying to help others.

She had worked outside the home as a secretary for Ruth Furniture and Couch Tire.

Lotus was a Christian and had most recently attended Emanuel Baptist Church and the services at Love and Care assisted living.

Surviving Lotus are her four children, Ron Archer (Linda), Cheryl Samec (Hal), Pat Cooper (Dick) and Vicki Hays (Steve). She also leaves behind eight grandchildren Dawn DeMoss (Rick), Clint Cooper (Amanda), April Ice (Jason), Jeff Williams, Brian Williams (Laura), Ty Reynolds, Drew Reynolds and Tommie Williams and ten great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Love and Care assisted living, Parkersburg Care and Housecalls Hospice. A special thank you to Dr. Randal Heavner MD.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg and Chaplain Lora Sams will be officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery.
