Jessie Gilbert Ard

Jessie Gilbert Ard of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on September 17, 2006 at his residence, having reached the age of 72 years and 20 days. He was born on August 28, 1934 at Gladden, Missouri, a son of Opal (Hedrick) Ard and the late Milford Ard.
In addition to his father, Jessie was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Ann Ard, a brother, Duane Ard, brothers-in-law, Butch Barnes, Roger Holland, and Dean Doyle.

Jessie was a loving and devoted son, father and grandfather. He was a dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a long time member of the Belgrade Masonic Lodge No. 632.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his mother, Opal Ard of Salem; his daughter, Gina Barron and husband Mark of Arnold; his son, Dana Ard of Belgrade; three brothers, Kenneth Ard and wife Kathie of Hazelwood, Junior Ard of Salem, Herman Ard of St. Charles; five sisters, Delores Stroverink and husband Tony of St. Peters, Delma Barnes of St. Louis, Violet Holland of Hudson, Florida, Patrice Petty of Salem, Sandy Ard of Richmond Heights; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, Sept 21, 2006 at 10 AM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Dana Ard, Ken Ard, Junior Ard, Leon Stricklind, Jim Lands and Kyle Lands.

Interment and final prayers were held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
