Daniel Louis (D.L.) Briggs, age 96, of Hot Springs, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016. He was born on May 16, 1920 in Hot Springs, the son of the late Abert G. Briggs and Osa Bray Briggs.

On February 5, 1942, he married "his sweet" Marie V. Archer who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death his eldest son, Daniel Lynn Briggs; two great-grandsons, Aryn Rhys and Briggs Lee Noble; four brothers, Albert, Woodrow, George and Theodore; and three sisters, Pearl, Hazel and Ora.

After retiring as the head butcher from the Vapors, D.L enjoyed spending more time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking and on occasion, fishing. He loved and missed his "sweet Marie" and they are now together again.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, his son and two daughters-in-law, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind old friends, new friends as well as the staff of Madison Health Care in Little Rock and caregivers with Arkansas Hospice.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the Greenwood Cemetery with Bro. Larry Catcher officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
