She was born in Royalton, KY on April 24, 1922, the daughter of Hardigis & Nettie (Carpenter) Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband-Ernie Walden, 2 Sons- James W. Howard & Amos Howard, 3 Grandsons, 2 Granddaughters and by several Brothers & Sisters.
Mildred is survived by several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and several Brothers & Sisters.
Her hobbies included quilting, cooking and gardening. She quilted for hours at a time. Never did anybody walk in her house that she didn't start cooking. She worked for Addus for many years & received an award for excellent service. She also managed the Red Carpent Motel in Dix. She managed the Gray Plaza Motel in West Frankfort for over 20 years. She worked as a Greeter at Walmart for 4 years.
Grandma was a kind, good hearted woman. She was a joy to be around. She was full of love for all-and always had room in her heart for others.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 21st at the Middle Creek Cemetery in Dahlgren with Rev. Merle Fullerton officiating. There will be No Visitation those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Family.
