George was the 1st born child of William C. Wright and Temperence "Tempy" Corum. He was born in Green Co, KY. The family moved to Shepherdsville, Bullitt Co, KY before 1900.

On his U.S. World War I Draft Registration, George was listed as having black hair and black eyes. He was also listed as an "Idiot".

His mother, Tempy died in 1924, while they still lived in Bullitt Co, KY. Shortly after her death, he and his father, William moved to Washington Co, IN, to be near his sister, Eliza Belle (Wright) Jewell. She was the oldest daughter, so most likely she helped take care of George.

In June 1925, his father died, leaving him in the care of his sister, Eliza, who lived in New Philadelphia, IN. But 5 months later, George died from Epilepsy (as listed on his death cert).
