Rosa Cole Davis was the youngest surviving daughter born to Lewis Houston Cole and Louisa Elizabeth Balch who lived in the Puncheon area of Giles County.

Rosa married Ray Davis, who was born in Wayne County, TN, on 3 Aug 1919 in Lawrence County, TN. They lived in Giles County until they moved to Lawrenceburg sometime between 1935 and 1940. She had two sons, Thomas and Hugh Edward, the former of whom was killed by friendly fire in World War II.
