Charles Hammett was born October 21, 1922 and passed away July 6, 2016 after a long and courageous fight with several health issues.
Upon graduating from high school he was accepted into Southern Methodist University where he was so proud to play ball for the Mustangs on a scholarship. When WWII broke out, Charles became an officer in the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served in the Pacific Theatre. He later served on the frontline in the Korean Conflict. Upon graduating from SMU with a business degree, Charles went to work for Humble Oil and remained with the company until his retirement in 1981.
Survived by his wife of 69 years, Jeanne Hammett and many other family members and close friends who he considered to be family.
A private graveside service will be held.
