George Wilkins, age 84, retired farmer, died Saturday morning at 3:40 o’clock of a heart attack, in the same home near Shandon in which he was born, May 5, 1856. He was the youngest of nine children of Daniel and Elizabeth Shields Wilkins, pioneer settlers near Shandon. Mr. Wilkins attended the Shandon Congregational Church. In 1898, he married Jessie Rothermal who died in 1907. A daughter of the couple died in youth.
Mr. Wilkins leaves three daughters, Mrs. Raymond Irwin, Miss Elma Wilkins, Mrs. Bryan Butterfield, all of Shandon, six grandchildren, and a brother, John Wilkins, of Shandon. Burial in Shandon cemetery.
