She was born July 11, 1922, in Howard, to the late Walter M. and Lula (Lybarger) Lepley.
Burdetta graduated from Howard High School in 1940 and attended Mount Vernon Business College. She was a member of the Rake and Hoe Garden Club since 1954 and a member of the Howard United Methodist Church.
She is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, including a special niece, Melanie (Dennis) Addair.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin C. Drake, whom she married June 21, 1945, he died June 6, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria "GiGi" (Drake) Ackerman; a grandson, Brian Ackerman; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sara Lepley; and an aunt, Flora Shaw.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m., at the Workman Cemetery in Danville with Pastor Tom Orr officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling the arrangements. Visit www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
