Following a courageous fight with cancer, Glenna C. Godsey, 84, of Denison, TX, passed peacefully at her home on July 3, 2016 surrounded by her loving children. A visitation for Glenna's family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Bratcher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 4:00 pm at Waples United Methodist Church in Denison with Rev. Cheryl Murphy presiding. Pallbearers will be Glenna's grandsons: Sean Moore, Robert Moore III, Wes Lacewell, Justin Jones, Brook Aslin, Taylor Aslin, Blake Aslin, Kane Knutson and Nathan Lee. Glenna was born on September 24, 1931 in Paris, TX to Glenn and Ailenne Coltharp. A faithful member of the Methodist church her entire life, Glenna was a Sunday school teacher, an active member of United Methodist Women and Stephen Ministries. She was also a Republican Party faithful and a P.E.O. sister. Glenna is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Earl Godsey; her parents; sister, Corrinne Stokes; twin sister, Edwina White; and son-in-law John Lacewell. She is survived by her sister Jane Loflin (Eddie); son Robert Moore, Jr. (Allison); daughters Karen Lacewell, Jeri Wood (Robert), Laurie Aslin (Dr. William), Mary Jane Burden (Rod), Margo Knutson (Mitch), and Dr. Kristi Lee; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waples United Methodist Church in Denison, TX. The family wishes to thank our mother's caregivers, Guardian Hospice, and her wonderful friends and neighbors who gave unwavering love and support.
