Memorial services for Clifford "Cliff" Evans, Jr., 63, Overbrook, will be 12:00pm Sunday, at 735 E. 22nd St., Lawrence, KS 66046 formerly Evans Import Service. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Evans died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at his home.
He was born October 7, 1952, in Lawrence, the son of Clifford L. and Barbara June Withers Evans. Cliff attended Lawrence schools and lived in Lawrence until 1988, before moving to Overbrook where he has resided since.
Cliff enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard and was active from March 31, 1972 to December 3, 1977. He was the owner and operator of Evans Import Service from 1979 to 2015. Cliff was a master mechanic, horseman, loved playing golf, riding motorcycles, working and tinkering on things, and racing dune buggies.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Moody and grandson, Payton Mastel of the home; daughter, Candy Thompson and husband Jimmy Jr. and granddaughter, Jae Thompson of Eudora; stepchildren, Lisa Branting of Canby, OR, Todd Buck of Eldon, MO, Kelli Lawlor of Washington D.C., Jeff Buck of McMinnville, OR; brothers, Rick Evans of Lawrence, Greg Evans of Lawrence, Daryl Evans of Linwood, Dana Evans of Tonganoxie, Robin Evans of Overbrook; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy Evans; sister, Cheryl Evans; and stepson, Craig Buck.
The family will receive friends from 6pm- 8pm Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory.
