Once again the community is called upon to part with another well known and highly respected resident in the demise of Mrs. Rose Tourville which occurred at her farm home southeast of this village last Thursday. She had been in declining health for some time. She was born in Chateaugay 76 years ago, a daughter of the late Jerry and Christina (Moses) Martin. She was united in marriage to Henry Tourville and the couple resided on the farm where she died. Mr. Tourville passed away 20 years ago. She was devoted to her home and family ties and had a wide circle of friends who now mourn her departure. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Church.
Surviving are two daughters and three sons: Mrs. Clarence Legacy, Burke. Mrs. Lawrence Carey, Chateaugay, Roderick, Chateaugay, Allison, Brushton, Martin, Chateaugay; one sister, Mrs. Mary Bushey, Malone; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Church on Monday. Interment was made in the family plot at St. Patrick's cemetery.
