LEE - Robert F. Mackie, 68, of Main Street in South Lee, husband of the former Dorothy Morris, died at his home last night.
He was born in Pittsfield and educated in the Pittsfield school system and a graduate of Pittsfield High School and had lived in South Lee for the past 15 years.
Mr. Mackie retired in 1969 after 39 years as a mail carrier working from the Lee Post Office. He participated in local golf and bowling leagues.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Trevor Mackie of Warwick, Rhode Island; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Cummings of Lee and Miss Benda Mackie at home, a sister, Miss Beatrice Mackie of Pittsfield, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 from the Kelly Funeral Home with a 2 p.m. service at St. George's Episcopal Church.. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
