Funeral Rites Are Conducted for R. A. Love
Prominent Nances Creek Resident Claimed by Death at Home
Funeral services for R. A. Love, age 76, prominent citizen of the Nances Creek section of Calhoun County who died Sunday afternoon at his home, were held Monday afternoon. Rev. T. D. Stovall and Rev. Mr. Hanly officiated. Interment was in the Nances Creek Cemetery with Johnston of Jacksonville in charge.
Mr. Love was for many years a leader in the religious and political affairs of his community. He voted in the Democratic primary last Tuesday. He moved to this county at an early age from Randolph County where he was born.
Mr. Love had been crippled for the last two years from a fractured hip received in a fall.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Brown (Mary) of Jacksonville; and five sons, Samuel Edward Love and William L. Love, both of Jacksonville, and Coke C. Love, Robert Ernest Love and Joseph Wheeler Love of Piedmont.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth “Lizzie” Chambers Love.
