Mr. Carlos (Sam) Eugene George, 87 passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born April 16, 1929 in Davidson Co. NC son of the late John and Dovie Lunsford George. Mr. George was retired from Stroupe Mirror Company with 41 years of service he also loved doing painting work part time and was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. Sam also loved Gardening in the summer time. Mr. George was married to Cora Ann Kennedy George who preceded him in death January 30, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents; five sisters and three brothers. Surviving are one daughter, Sheila Cline and husband Danny of Lexington; two sons, Ricky George and wife Lynn of Westminster, Maryland and Chuck George of Thomasville, NC; six grandchildren, Amanda Cline, Aaron George, Madison George, Kasey George, Brent George and Alisha George James. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Sizemore, Jr. officiating. The interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will greet friends for the hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292 or to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund 712 Fisher Ferry St. Thomasville, NC 27360.
