Lois Laney Hovis, age 96 of Maiden passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home, Huntersville.
Born December 7, 1919 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Morris Laney and the late Evelyn Parker Laney. In addition to her parents, husband, Flint K. Hovis; 6 brothers, Furman, Paul, Jeff, Glen, Noah & Pritchard Laney; 2 sisters, Marie Rhyne & Thelma Laney and son-in-law, Bill Brown preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory:
2 Daughters: Donna H. Lawing of Pumpkin Center; Millie H. Brown of Mt. Holly
Brother: Ralph Laney of Lincolnton
Granddaughter: Angie L. McInchok of Columbia, SC
Grandson: John Lawing and wife Amy of Denver
3 Great Grandchildren: Dylan McInchok, Laney & Samantha Lawing
The funeral service will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Center View Baptist Church, Maiden with Rev. Glenn Sellers and Rev. Ken Furches officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm at the church.
