Mrs. Joyce Faye Peavyhouse Boles, age 87, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 1, 1929 in Fentress County, TN, the daughter of Claude and Estelle Wright Peavyhouse.

Mrs. Boles was a member of the Jamestown First Baptist Church. She was a very proud educator for 36 years in the Fentress County School System. She served as past president in 1971 of the Fentress County Women’s Republican Party. She was the first president and helped to organize Delta Kappa Gamma of Fentress County.

Mrs. Boles is survived by a son, John Boles and wife Becky; grandsons, Jaced and Jared Boles; great-grandchldren Jacob and Annalei Boles; special friend and care giver, Pat Copley; and dearest cousins, Jane Ann and Gail.

“Miss Joyce,” as she was affectionately known by her many students, is also survived by several other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lee Boles, and parents, Claude and Estelle Wright Peavyhouse.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown with Bro. Tommy Duncan officiating, with burial following in the Fentress Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers included Kevin Baz, Duyan Taylor, Donnie Choate, Roger Choate, Guy Dale Beaty, and Paul King. Honorary pallbears included Jacob Boles and Zeb Qualls.

The Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown, TN was in charge of the services.
