Christian D. Rehm was originially Christopf D. Rehm Born in Otterndorf, Hanover, Prussia, and was educated in his native city. When 15 years of age, he learned the building trade and became an adept brick and stone mason by his 20th year.

He joined the German army and took part in the invasion of France. He was in the battles of Metz and Toul. Was at the siege of Paris and then fought in Dreux, Beaugoney and Madelaine, For six days he was in a continuous fight for Orleans, during which time; his regiment, the Seventy-fifth German Volunteers, was under constant fire. The last engagement in which he took part was at La Maus.

He owned the C. D. Rehm soda manufacturing company in Manhattan at 99 Columbia St., and later in 1902 opened the Evers - Rehm Bottle manufacturing facility at 419-421-423 E. 24th St., in Manhattan.

He was co-founder of the Bottler's and Manufacturer's Assn. of NY (Incorp. 1889), a 33rd degree Mason, co-owner of the Harlem River Park Company; owners of Sulzer's Park and the Suzler Casino.

He was a member of the NY SchuzenCorp and president 1900-1901. He attained the title Captain and was a sharpshooter with the organization, winning innumerable medals and awards. The photographs are his Schutzen sharp shooter custom made rifle and the sword seen in his bio photo.

He was a member of the Beethoven Mannnerchor and the Veteran Association of Germany of 1870-71. He was a member and president of the Plattdeutscher Volksfest.

He immigrated to the United States in 1873 settling in Hoboken NJ. He was married three times. He married Anna Landwehr 1 Jul 1875. They had a little girl, Anna in 1877. Both mother and daughter died in 1877. He then married Antonia C. Langhammer Genrich Rehm, 22 April 1879. They moved to Manhattan in 1882. They were married until her death in 1894. In 1895 he married Anna Dorothea Schwaneman Rehm. He and Dora had four sons; one died as an infant. They made their home first in Manhattan, then the Bronx, where they lived until their deaths in 1939. Exactly four months after his death, Dorothea followed her husband.
