She was born on February 6, 1943 in Bedford, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John Allen Taylor and Virginia (Ginn) Taylor.
Betty considered herself as a homemaker and mother first, but was currently working at the Old Thyme Gardens Greenhouse in Otisco, Indiana. She also had worked at the Scottsburg Middle and High Schools for many years, was a seamstress and worked for several area auctioneer services. Betty graduated from Trimble County High School in 1961 and was a member of the Lexington Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Jason Michael Dean and a brother, Richard Allen Taylor.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Michael P. Dean; a daughter, Jessica Veech (Mike) of LaGrange, Kentucky; three sons, Neal Tingle (Vickie) of Louisville, Kentucky, Mike Tingle of Shelbyville, Indiana and Steve Dean (Bonnie) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
