Carwin Adams Berry, 81, passed away on December 28, 2014 in Nelsonia, Va. Born on May 2, 1933 at the Berry family home in Bloxom, Va., he was the son of the late Millard Fillmore Berry and Hazel Powell Berry.

Having grown up as a farmer's son, Carwin spent many tireless hours of his youth working in the fields of the family farm. He was never more comfortable than when he was working the land and was an avid gardener for much of his adult life.

He leaves behind three children, Carwin Kim Berry and wife Monica of Salisbury, Md., Sharon B. Askew and husband Shelton of Onancock, Va., and Carla B. Stevenson and husband Glenn of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Shirley Edwards and husband Ronnie of Melfa, Va.; a brother, Millard F. Berry, Jr. of Salisbury; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Carwin was predeceased by a brother, Bill Berry, and a sister Marian Berry Baker.

A memorial service will be held at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverend Albert Crockett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Eastern Shore Food Bank, P.O. Box 518, Onley, Va. 23418.
