Obituary April 15, 1932 page 3 Steamboat Pilot:

"Sallie C. Adair, one of the most prominent pioneer residents of Routt county, passed away at her home in San Diego, Calif., at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 5. Her home had been in California for the past 18 years but only last year she made a visit to SS.

Deceased was born September 2, 1858, in Rural Vale, Monroe county, Tennessee. Mrs. Adair was the wife of William W. Adair, one of the oldest settlers in Routt county, who passed away several years ago at San Diego. She is survived by a number of brothers and sisters, James C. Harris of SS, Will Harris of Myton, Utah, John L. Harris of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Lydia J. Killion of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Mattie Coppinger of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Melissa T. Meyers and Mrs. Rebecca Coppinger, both now residing at Pryor, Okla.

She was married to William A. Adair in 1886 in Tennessee and they came to Routt county in the spring of 1887 where Mr. Adair engaged in the hardware business as one of the firm of Meyers & Adair, their place of business being located where the court house now is. Later he engaged in the ranching business on the ranch on the Mesa now occupied by James. C. Harris.

Funeral services were held at the Johnson-Saums mortuary at San Diego, on April 7, and the remains were laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial beside that of her husband, William W. Adair."

Also from her brother's obituary Nov 29, 1935 Steamboat Pilot:

"... The youngest boy, George W., who was a baby when his mother died, was adopted by his aunt, Mrs. William Adair, and has made his home in California with the Adairs."
