The morning of Saturday, November 17, 2001, Leonard Arthur Beal went to his rest. One of five children, Leonard Arthur Beal was born to Wesley O. and Isabel Holloman Beal, February 24, 1919 in Plant City, Florida. His parents were descendants of one of the pioneering families of Bealsville, Florida. As a young adult, he left Plant City, Florida to attend Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. On February 3, 1941, he left college to join the U.S. Army Air Corp and was stationed at Tuskegee Air Base in Tuskegee, Alabama during World War II.
On January 17, 1942, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Helena Lillian Drew in Hampton, Virginia.
Leonard was a Technical Writer at McDonnell Douglas until his retirement in 1982. He was an avid fisherman and amember of VFW Post # 3480.
He departd this life Friday, February 17, 2001 at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. Preceding him in death: his loving wife, Helena Lillian Drew Beal; his parents; three brothers, Alfred, W.O. and Belton; one sister, Loretha Beal Glenn and her husband, Walter Glenn.
Leonard will be cherished, missed and remembered by two loving daughters, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four nephews, three nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was loved and will be missed.
