Floyd Clarence Custer, age 94, of Monticello, formerly of Spicer, MN, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at St. Benedict’s Sr. Community.
A private service took place Sunday, June 19 at Howard Lake Cemetery.
There will be visitation Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m. at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Monticello, followed by a noon “Celebration of Floyd’s Life.”
Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
Floyd was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Howard Lake, and grew up in the Howard Lake area.
He attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada.
Floyd was united in marriage to Edith Engstrom in 1947. The couple lived in Minneapolis, and then moved to the Spicer area, where they lived for 20 years. In 1995, they moved to Monticello, and have lived there since that time.
Floyd worked for American Linen Supply Company for 38 years.
His most enjoyable pleasure was being in his little boat, fishing on Green Lake. He also loved to watch basketball and cheer on the Minnesota Twins.
Floyd served in several churches, and was a great prayer warrior for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith; parents Asael and Ida (Gerber) Custer; grandson Shane Johnson; and great granddaughter Naomi Brown.
