Darrel H. Alford, 77, of Kankakee, died Monday (April 10, 2006). Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the 10 a.m. funeral services at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin. Burial, with honors, will follow at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
Mr. Alford was born Dec. 13, 1928, in Vienna, the son of Harry and Aline (Ryan) Alford. He served during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Timothy Alford of Kaneville, Ronald and Ingrid Alford of South Elgin; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, Glenda, Roger, Russell, Agnes, Ralph, Helen, Jack, Virgil and Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
One sister, Dorothy; and two brothers, George and Wayne, are deceased.
