Geneva Fay Berryman

Geneva Fay Berryman, 93, of Richmond, the widow of Dudley Clay Berryman, Jr., passed away Thursday evening, June 23, 2016 at her home.

She was born March 22, 1923 in Richmond, to William and Annie Green Tate, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Berryman was a homemaker and a former employee of Johnson Diamond Exchange, and a member of First Baptist Church of Richmond who loved her “sweet Jesus” and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Edward Berryman (Mona) of St. Petersburg, FL; and William R. “Bob” Berryman (Shirley) of Richmond; one daughter, Stephanie Karen Griffey (widow of Bobby) of Richmond; one sister, Betty Prewitt of Berea; sister-in-law, Cathy Tate of Richmond; five grandchildren, Michelle Berryman, Clay Berryman (Natalie), Robert Berryman, Billy Berryman (Paige), Morgan Griffey; and four great-grandchildren, Kannon Berryman, Lincoln Berryman, Sawyer Berryman and Judah Berryman.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Richardson, Elizabeth Roark, and Thelma Nantz; and three brothers, William Tate, Jr., Jimmy Tate, and Owen Tate.

Funeral service for Geneva Berryman will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Buford Parkerson and Bro. Billy Berryman officiating. Burial will follow at the College Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be held from 5 – 9 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Clay Berryman, Robert Berryman, Bill Tate, Larry Richardson, Phillip Prewitt, and Jimmy Cain. Honorary bearers will be Michelle Berryman and Morgan Griffey.
