Rosemary "Rosie" Niese
(December 30, 1924 - June 18, 2016)

Rosemary NIESE

Rosemary (Rosie) Niese, 91, a longtime Seattle resident, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2016. She was born December 30, 1924 to Harriett and Leo Ahmann on a farm outside Foxholm, North Dakota. She had 13 siblings. The family moved to the Northwest where she attended Kirkland High School and met and then married her late husband, Carl Niese. Carl had served in the Army and Rosie worked at Boeing on airplanes (and was one of the "Rosie the Riveters"). They lived in Kirkland for a few years and then settled in the north Seattle area.

Rosie is survived by her 9 children, Kathie Lewis (Mike), Karol Moreland (Doug), Marilee Anderson (Tom), Patti Matson (Bob), Jeanne Niese (Greg), Laura Clark (Dan), Linda Sperline (Mark-deceased), Bryan Niese, and Barry Niese (Darla).

Rosie had so much love for and was adored by her 19 grandchildren, - Korryn, Krista, Kerri, Angela, Ryan, Marc, Robbie, Kalin, Sophie, Brittany, Chase, Autumn, Amy, Luke, Blair, Madeline, AvanElle, Simon, and Ezra. She was also blessed with 12 great grandchildren.

Rosie was an incredible mother to her 9 children. She also had many talents such as coaching softball and sewing (including bridesmaid dresses for 7 weddings). Some of the activities she loved were: Skiing, traveling, walking around Green Lake, annual family trips to the ocean, camping, and gardening. Rosie and Carl also enjoyed golfing and were long time members at Inglewood Golf Club.. The last several years Rosie resided at Aljoya Retirement Home where she met and enjoyed many.

Rosie came to know the Lord many years ago and Bible study was an important part of her daily life.

She was so loving, caring, and witty. Her family, friends, and all who knew Rosie will dearly miss her but know she is happy in God's hands now.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service to honor and remember Rosemary will be held on June 28th at 11:30 AM at North Seattle Alliance Church at 2150 N 122nd St. Seattle, 98133

Remembrances may be made to: The Alzheimer's Association 100 Harrison St. Suite N200 Seattle, WA 98119
