Ira Palmer Passed away on 19 February 1905 in Nevada, Vernon County, Missouri, not clear if it was at his home there or at a Hospital. After his death he was transported back to Tingley, Iowa near their farm, where they also lived, and was buried at the Tingley Cemetery.

Son of Wilkinson & Nancy (Hurd) Palmer. res. Nevada, MO; wives include Sarah J. Morris, Mrs. Lavina L. Grace & Mrs. Rosella "Ella" Nicholas sic) (Tingley Vindicator 23 Feb 1925)

Family databases also give a child Pearlie M., born 1869 in Henderson Co., Illinois.

1870 census of Monmouth, Warren, Illinois:
Ira A. Palmer (sic), with children Webster, Charlie, Fannie, William "Willie", George, Nora, and Frank.

Married Lavina (Lupher) Grace, 1871, and she subsequently passed away in 1879. She brought with her a son to this marriage, Charles F Grace about 3 years of age.

Ira was engaged in the manufacturing of a two-horse cultivator with W.S. Hopper in Monmouth Co., ILL. He moved to Ringgold County, IA in 1871. His farm contained 320 acres, all under fence and well-improved, he had followed general farming and stock-raising, paying special attention to cattle & hogs, in which he had met with success. He was President of Ringgold County Agricultural Society for 8 years and by the strict and honorable dealing had gained confidence of all who knew him.

Marr:(3) 11 Nov 1883, [Sarah Rosella] "Ella" SPENCER Nicholas of Iowa, brought with her, her daughter Clara Belle and son Elmer Nicholas. They all moved to Ringgold County, Liberty Twp, Sec 5,IA.

Regarding his father's Estate "Petition for Letters of Administration" gave his father's name as Wilkinson Palmer only. Ira A., as a son living at Mt Ayr, Ringold, IA. as given by his bro George W. who lived with the father in 1870 at Hale Twp., Warren County, Illinois, P.O. Monmounth. A Biographical sketch (1886) of Schuyler & George W. Palmer erroneously names WM. Wilkinson Palmer as father.
