Mr. Marquess attended Leonard Hall Military Academy and was employed as a roofer. He enjoyed hunting, especially bow hunting. He was an avid NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Born Oct. 30, 1963, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Malcolm A. ‘‘Mac" Marquess of Waldorf and the late Lenor J. Batson Marquess.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Ryan Marquess Simpson of La Plata; and sisters, Michele A. and her husband, Bryan Nelbach, of Owings and Noralyn and her husband, Wade Heisig, of Finksburg.
Visitation was held Nov. 8 at Rausch Funeral Home, Owings, where a service was held Nov. 9. The Rev. George Batson and the Rev. Rick Hancock officiated. Burial took place at Mount Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery, Owings.
Arrangements were handled by Rausch Funeral Home.
