Graveside services were held June 18, 2000, at Tow Cemetery in Llano County for Loyd Lee Cowan, 88, of Llano. Brother Doug Aston officiated.

Mr. Cowan died June 17 in Llano.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Lampasas and was baptized in 1992.

He was born Sept. 28, 1911, in Llano County. Mr. Cowan and his wife, Dovie, married May 23, 1939, in Lampasas County.
He worked as a ranch foreman and had been a Tow resident since 1964, coming from Harris County, Texas.

Survivors are two daughters, Judy Brannon and her husband, Robert, of Waxahachie and Betty Schiel and her husband, Jerry, of Hockley, Texas; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 7, 1998.

Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Cherokee Children's Home in Cherokee.
