Alva Athens Brubaker
VIRDEN -- Alva Athens Brubaker, 80, of Virden died at 3:30 p.m. Friday at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. A carpenter, Mr. Brubaker suffered a fall from a ladder while at work.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from Barry Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Russell of Grand Junction, Tenn. and Chester of Virden; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Nora) Walkington and Mrs. Orval (Edwina) Fines, both of Alton; ten grandchildren; 30 great-grand-children; two sisters, Mrs. Ora Pride of Springfield and Mrs. Effie Robins of Long Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Ota and Emerey, both of Springfield.
