Carl R. McKinley, 77, Topeka, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Scottsdale Healthcare-Osborn, Scottsdale, Ariz., while attending a Wasinger family reunion.

He was born Sept. 19, 1927, in Scranton to Bryan and Hanna Leone (Glenn) McKinley.

He graduated from Seaman High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was the founder and president of Mainline Printing in Topeka until the business was sold in 1986.

He married Betty Trimmell in Baltimore, Md., in 1947. They divorced. He married Patricia Wasinger Schlyer on May 20, 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Topeka; two sons, Marc McKinley, Phoenix, Ariz., and Blaine McKinley, Gladstone, Mo.; three stepsons, Dan Schlyer, Hays, Bradley Schlyer and Benjamin Schlyer, both of Topeka; two stepdaughters, Chris Hayden and Amy Schlyer, both of Topeka; a stepsister, Annette Erskin, St. Francis; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be in Topeka at a later date. Messinger's Mortuary, Scottsdale, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to TARC, 2700 S.W. Randolph, Topeka, Kansas 66614 or to the organization of the donor's choice.
