Born April 19, 1932, in York, PA, he was the son of the late Stewart Jacobs and Lydia Sweitzer Jacobs.
Before retiring, he worked construction or was self-employed. He was a fan of wrestling, NASCAR, and the FL lottery. He enjoyed the company of his family and Harley, his Jack Russell. His brothers, Gordon and John, preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, a brother and a sister, Earl Jacobs and Esther Arndt, survive him. He had 9 children. His daughters are Karen Cumbee, Debbie Barthle, Sandra Harding and Sharon Evans. His sons are Melvin (Bobby) Jacobs, Daniel Jacobs, Bradley Jacobs, Michael Jacobs and Terry Jacobs. He had 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Pleasant Hills Church of the Brethren in Spring Grove, PA, followed by interment at Stoverstown Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
