Born November 8, 1923 in Preble County, New Paris, Ohio to Albert and Olgolda Daugherty, Barbara was a long-time resident of Richmond, Indiana. She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Her work experience included jobs at Wayne Works Bus Company, Internist Medical Association, Degan’s Pharmacy (Milwaukee) and Hudson’s Department store in Southfield, Michigan, among others. However, she was most proud of her countless hours of volunteer and charitable work at various community and charitable organizations. She was also a rabid fan of the Detroit Tigers.

She taught Sunday school, served meals, performed as a Communion Steward, served fourteen years at Starr School Birthday and Mentoring/Study Buddy programs, was active in Prime Timers, and served on the District Committee.

Barbara volunteered her time to the following organizations: Delta Theta Tau sorority, Two Literary Clubs, Morrison Reeves Library Board (hospitality committee and annual book sale), Kiwanis Service Club, Richmond Women’s Club Board President, President of Richmond Petal & Stem Garden Club, Boys and Girl Scouts (25 + years), Wayne County Historical Society & Museum Board Member and Richmond Art Museum Board Member.
Barbara was a life-long learner, avid bridge player, avid reader, artful conversationalist, and above all a servant to her Lord.
