Marie Schwab was born Mary Antoinette Zang to wonderful and loving parents, Mary Fischesser and Frank Zang, on November 1, 1921, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She entered peacefully into Eternal Life on Saturday, June 18, 2016. Marie was married in May of 1942 at the age of 20 to Walter Joseph Schwab. Immediately after their marriage, Walter, a United States Paratrooper in the 503rd Airborne, left to serve his country in the Pacific during World War II. Post war, while in Cincinnati, they had two daughters, Barbara and Joan. Always ready for an adventure and new things, Marie and Walt left a large extended family in Cincinnati and moved to South Florida in 1954. They built a lovely family home in a "small" city, Hialeah. Marie was a founding parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and School and was active in the Women's Club as well as her beloved Friendship Club. Marie treasured the long lasting friendships she built through her church. If there was a sporting event to drive to, or a carnival to help organize at Immaculate, Marie was always part of it. She had an incredible amount of energy. and at the age of 40, was surprised to welcome another daughter, Tricia. Marie embraced motherhood once again and enjoyed decades of love and laughter raising her three daughters. She was an adventurous traveler and was always ready for the next road trip. She especially cherished the huge family reunions back in Cincinnati, and later in life, going wherever the next gettogether was planned. Marie got excited about any kind of celebration, never turned down an invitation and of course would never miss the opportunity to be the life of the party. God blessed Marie with three grandsons: Chris, Jacob, and Jordan. Her love for them knew no bounds. She was an intricate part of their lives and she loved them unconditionally. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Walter (1990), her brothers Victor, Frank, and Tom and sister Esther. She is survived by her three loving and grateful daughters: Barbara (Paul), Joan, and Tricia (Stan), her brother Jerome (Augusta), many nieces and nephews, her grandsons: Chris, Jacob & Jordan, and great grandchildren Austin and Morgan. A Mass celebrating Marie's life will be held Thursday, June 23rd, at 11AM at her parish church where she was a member for the past16 years, St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 701 N Hiatus Rd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33026. Marie loved and supported many various charities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.
