Margret Haynes was the daughter of David Haynes (1718-1810) and Jane Huggins (1722-1800). She married James Carruth in 1768 in Mecklenburg County, Colony of North Carolina. Her daughter, Sarah Carruth, was born in 1770. James Carruth died on September 2, 1775, and he is buried in the Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. She married John Green in 1776 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Her second husband, John Green, died on April 29, 1794. The last record for Margaret Haynes Carruth Green was in 1815 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, when a deed was signed by the living heirs of John Green, including his widow, Margaret Green. The exact date of her death and the place of her burial has not been established.
SHE WAS NEVER THE HUSBAND OF ALEXANDER CRAIGHEAD AND THERE ARE NO RECORDS TO SUPPORT THIS BELIEF. Margaret Haynes was my 3rd great mother and there are records of both her marriages found on Ancestry.
I respectfully request that the existing Findagrave profile for her be removed since it is inaccurate. James F. Haynes
