Mr. Andrew Samuel Boswell, 80, passed away June 7, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of almost 13 years Clara Faye Boswell and was predeceased by first wife of 43 years, Beverly Boswell. He had four children, Pam Mercado of Branford, Andrew V. (Susan) Boswell of Bell, Tulah (Jason) Bishoff of Tifton, Georgia and Josh (Melanie) Boswell of Louisville, Kentucky along with three stepchildren, Marsha (Sherrod) Ward of O’Brien, Dean (Amelia) Durden of McAlpin and Allen (Marcie) Durden of Smyrna, Tennessee. He had 17 grandchildren and step-grandchildren and 9 great step-grandchildren. He has one surviving sister Peggy Thomas of High Springs and was predeceased by sisters Mattie Branch, Marie Bunkley and brother John Boswell.

He served 26 years in the United States Navy and was a part of the Cuban Missile Crisis and both the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He was stationed in multiple locations throughout the United States and served in two overseas duty stations throughout his military career. He also worked for the Gilchrist County School system as a bus driver for 13 years, often commenting on his enjoyment of both the children he transported and his co-workers with whom he formed long-lasting friendships.

He was a member of Branford Church of God and his Christian faith was readily evident in all he did and to all who knew him. He lived his life by example with strong values, a love of God, family and country. His favorite past times over the years were fishing, cooking Carolina style BBQ and enjoying good food and fellowship with friends and family. His presence on this earth will be deeply missed but his family is comforted by the knowledge he is in his eternal resting place free of the troubles of this world.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10th at Branford Church of God with Rev. Dale Dansby and Rev. Joe Dunn officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Advent Christian Cemetery in Gilchrist County. There was a visitation held on Thursday, June 9th at Daniels Funeral Home in Branford from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
