Mr. Stalker was feeling ill Sunday morning and did not get up, so Mrs. Stalker and an older daughter went out to do the milking, leaving his little girl and her sister, some two years older, in the house. While they were out doing the chores, little Sadie secured in some manner, this box of poisonous tablets, which had been put up for her some time before when she was sick, and ate a large quantity of them. She suddenly took sick and her screams brought her father and mother to her. They, after a little difficulty, found out what the trouble was and help was sent for at one; but the little one lived but scarcely a half hour.
The funeral was held from the house Monday forenoon at 10 o’clock, D. J. Poynter officiating, and the interment took place at the Loretto cemetery.
This is the second child that these people have had to part with, and the News joins with their many friends in extending their sympathy at this time.
