Eugene E. Whitebread PENNINGTON Eugene E. Whitebread, 87, of Pennington passed away on Saturday, June 20, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Morrisville, PA, he resided in Pennington for most of his life. He retired from Hill Refrigeration in Trenton. Gene was a proud veteran who served in the Marine Corps, and a member of American Legion Post No. 339. He was an avid salt water fisherman and bowler, and Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He also coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball for many years. Son of the late Paul R. and Anna Stout Whitebread, brother of the late Kenneth J. Whitebread, Paul R. Whitebread and Shirley Applegate, he is survived by his wife, Alice Cullen Whitebread; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott Whitebread of Elderberry Pond, PA, and Todd and Karen Whitebread of Hopewell; grandchildren, Kristen, Jamie, Paige, and Cassandra, and a great-granddaughter, Luna, along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington, with the Rev. Daniel Casselberry, pastor of the Pennington United Methodist Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Condolences are welcome at www.wilsonapple.com.
