Mrs. Jewell Smith, 98, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Hampton Oaks Health Campus Scottsburg, Indiana.
She was born July 28, 1917 in Kentucky, the daughter of the late James W. Whicker and Della (Bowles) Whicker.
She married Dan Smith, who passed away January 20, 2000.
She was baptized at the Parkway Christian Church, Pekin, Illinois.
Survivors include daughter, Sharon (John) Behrman, Lee's Summit, Missouri; brother, Mack Whicker, Scottsburg, Indiana; sister, Ruth Spicer, Delaware, Ohio. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde, Orville and William Whicker and sisters, Lucy Robbins, and Shirley Turner.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at Buchanan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Scottsburg Cemetery Scottsburg, Indiana.
