New York, May 25.—James S.H. Durand, former grand master of the New Jersey Grand Lodge of Master Masons, died today in Jersey City.
Mr. Durand was officiating at the Scottish Rite consistory on Monday evening, when Governor Foster M Voorhees and Congressman Fowler were being given the thirty-second degree, when he was stricken with apoplexy. He was removed from the consistory hall to an hospital, where he remained in an unconscious condition until his death.
