James Oliver Stocks, 60, carpenter, a resident of this city for the past nine years, was discovered dead at his home in Spanish Acres Saturday morning. He had been dead for more than 12 hours when found by a neighbor.

Physicians said death was caused from natural causes.

Services were conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. L.A. Boone and the Rev. F.V. Long. Burial was made in the Harlingen cemetery under direction of Stotler-Burdette Mortuary.

Pallbearers were J.B. Still, Primera; C.C. Bowman, S.M. Bryon, C.A. Canon, H.C. Spencer and E.H. Briggs of Harlingen.

Stocks had been a resident of the state for more than 31 years and was well-known in Harlingen. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R.M. King, Mrs. Jennings Young and Miss Laura Stocks, all of Primera; and a sister, Mrs. J.W. Richardson of Ruston, La.
