"Pioneer Dies at Age of 92"
Astoria, Or., Aug. 6
H. B. Parker, 92, an Oregon pioneer of 1852, died at his home here last night. He was born in Orange County, Vermont, and came to Oregon via the Nicaraguan route and had made his home in Astoria since that time. For many years he was identified with the commercial activities of this section, established the first independent steamer service between Astoria and Portland and built the Parker House, which in early days was well known to the traveling public.
Mr. Parker is survived by four brothers, two sisters and three children.
