Mrs. Jessie Lucille Rogers, 89, a resident of Petersburg, and a homemaker, died Monday night, November 27, 2000, at Bedford County Nursing Home in Shelbyville. A Grundy County native and daughter of the late Albert and Priscilla Gross Tate, she was a member of the Petersburg First Baptist Church. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Rogers, who died 1970, and son, Paul Rogers. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Darnell of Shelbyville; two sons, Randal Rogers and David Rogers, both of Petersburg; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Petersburg Chapel of McCauley Funeral Home with the Rev. Aubrey Knois and Bro. Harold Davis officiating. Interment was in Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg. Mrs. Rogers' grandsons served as pallbearers.
