Harriet Fitzpatrick Brister, 66, passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, June 13, 2016, after battling cancer.

Born in Douglasville, Georgia, Harriet moved to Crystal Springs at age 13. After graduating Crystal Springs High School in 1968, she attended the Atlanta College of Art. Harriet was a talented commercial artist who was known for her pen and ink drawings, oil paintings, and work with stone and marble. She was a member of the Mississippi Arabian Horse Association, which afforded her the opportunity to engage her passion for Arabian horses. She was an avid gardener who loved spending time outdoors.

Harriet had a warm and caring personality, and loved spending time with family and friends. In her later years she attended her father, mother, and aunt, while managing the family farm.

Harriet is predeceased by her parents, Marguerite "Pete" Bullock Fitzpatrick and W.H. "Harris" Fitzpatrick, Jr. She is survived by her three children Heather Brister Megehee (Glenn), Jason Brister (Amy Scanlon, fiancé), and Holly Brister, and brother, Wes Fitzpatrick, III.

A memorial service will be held from 11-1 Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs.
