Morgan Jones Luse, son of Matthias Luse and Susannah Starke,was born on Wed. 11 May 1808 in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Morgan Jones Luse married Sarah Wright, daughter of James Wright and Jane Burn, circa 1828.

There were eight children born to this union: 1) James (1830-after 1911), 2) Margaret (1834-1893), 3) Mary (1834-1851), 4) Sarah (1836-????), 5) Catharine (1840-ca. 1877), 6) Charlotte (1843-1863), 7) Ellen (1851-????) and 8) John (1853-????)

In 1850, Morgan was a farmer in Amwell Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. His future son-in-law, Nathaniel D. DeGood (age 24) was also a member of the household with occupation of mason. In 1860 we find Morgan and family living in Hilliar Township, Knox County, Ohio. Then in 1880 we find him located in Locust Grove Township, Jefferson County, Iowa. At this time he had real estate valued at $12,500 and personal property of 500.

In 1880, Morgan was still located in Locust Grove Township, Jefferson County, Iowa. His wife was listed as keeping house.

His wife, Sarah, died on 20 Mar 1881 in Jefferson County, Iowa at age 77 years, 5 months and 12 days, leaving him a widower.

After his wife's death and burial, Morgan along with son James Luse and his family migrated to Moline, Elk County, Kansas. On 01 Mar 1883 Morgan Jones Luse bought Lots Three and Four (3 & 4) Section Three (3) Township Thirty One (31) Range (10) and South West Quarter (1/4) of the North West Quarter (1/4) and South East Quarter (1/4) of the North West Quarter (1/4) All of Section Three (3) Township Thirty One (31) Range Ten (10) in Wild Cat Township, Elk County, Kansas from Joseph F. Good and his wife, Tryphena Good.

He died on Wed. 27 Feb 1889 at his home 1 1/2 miles north of Moline, Elk County, Kansas at age 80 years, 9 months and 16 days. After services held at the home, he was buried on Thu. 28 Feb 1889 in the Moline Cemetery, Moline, Elk County, Kansas. His obituary appeared on 01 Mar 1889 in the Moline Mercury of Moline, Elk County, Kansas.

His will was filed for probate on 21 Nov 1890 in Howard, Elk County, Kansas. The Elk County Courthouse probate records were burned in a fire in 1900 and the majority of records were lost for 1890.
