John studied at Central Washington University before beginning a career as an elementary school teacher. He later found his passion working as the music director at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Renton.
He loved to celebrate his faith through choir. When he wasn't singing at St. Stephen, he was singing with ChoralSounds Northwest in Burien. These groups became a second family to John. He loved nothing more than when his loved ones came to hear him sing in his many concerts.
John was admired by his family and friends for his generosity. He loved to give gifts, his time, friendship and love to those around him, especially his nieces and nephews. His generosity extended from the people in his life to his four-legged "nieces and nephews" that he loved to visit and spoil with attention, gifts and plenty of treats. John willingly took over the farm chores when his father's health no longer allowed him to do so. John's favorite job was taking care of the family cows.
Please join us in celebrating John's life. A funeral mass is scheduled for June 30 at 11 am at St. Stephen Church. A rosary will be offered at 10:30 in the chapel prior to the mass as well as a vigil on June 29 at 7:30 pm also at St. Stephen.
