Mrs. Deere was born May 1, 1914 to Frank and Agnes Thompson. She married Forest James. He preceded her in death. She later married Leroy (Bill) Deere. He also preceded her in death.
She was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and also was a member of the Davenport-Bettendorf Women's Bowling Association for 66 years and its Hall of Fame. She was a past member of the Northwest Turners Auxiliary and Ladies of the Moose.
Survivors include: two daughters Jean Mumm and JoAnn Franzen; step-daughter Alberta Swope; son-in-law Bernie Ketelsen; six grandchildren; nine step grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Ketelsen, step daughter, Dorothy Willet, grandson, Brian Ketelsen, step grandson, John Bahnson, sons-in-law Eugene (Curly) Mumm and Norwood (Woody) Franzen, her parents, three brothers and a sister in infancy.
