Word has been received here of the death of R. W. (Rube) Dunn, former Alamogordo resident, in a Hobbs hospital early Tuesday, April 29, following a heart attack. Dunn, who with his family made his home here in the mid-thirties, lived for many years in Artesia and more recently in Lovington. He was a brother of A.

L. Dunn of Alamogordo, who will attend the services.


Born in Belton, Texas, in 1891, he first came to Artesia about 1919 and was for a number of years agent for the Texas Company there. The Dunns returned to Artesia after living in Alamogordo and about seven years ago moved to Lovington, where Mr. Dunn was engaged in the furniture business in association with his two sons Carl Dunn and William Wright Dunn .


His widow survives in addition to the two sons.


He was well known in this section, particularly in the mountain area. Funeral arrangements are pending word from other relatives..
