THELMA BENFIELD SIPE

CONOVER- Thelma Benfield Sipe,66,of Rt.2, Catawba died Monday at her residence.

Born Feb.7,1923, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Fred Taylor and Kate Anthony Benfield. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred Benfield, Harvey Benfield, Charles Benfield and Everette Benfield.

Survivors include her husband, James Sipe; a son, Freddie Sipe of Catawba; four daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Debbie) Stewart, Mrs. Robert (Pat) Blackburn and Mrs. Tim (Kim) Honeycutt of Catawba and Mrs. Tony (Donna) Sigmon of Claremont, a brother, Melvin Benfield of Newton; two sisters, Ruth Briggs of Bell, Fla., and Collen Dabbs of Newton; 10 grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Fred Thompson and Bobby Langston at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Newton.

Burial will be in Hudson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be at Drum Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
